The central objective was to arrange the dwelling in a manner that accommodated various degrees of privacy, while fostering a seamless and uninterrupted flow of movement.
A thick curved wall encloses the private and semi-private areas of the house separating them from the common areas. The wall, curving its shape at the entrance of the house as a welcoming gesture, directs the movement- through a lowered ceiling open corridor – towards the common areas, the living room and the home office. The wall is designed as a sequence of volumes and openings. It consists of white surfaces incorporating in its body the necessary storage units and a thin metal shelving system. A semi-transparent glass panel concealed behind a bookcase, harkening back to the apartment’s original palette, blurs views towards the kitchen.
